........... Oh wait
Never mind, that my huge wall of every single Cellucor Cor-Performance whey.
This weekend i'll be headed to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico for vacation with my family!!
I'm excited to kick my feet up, relax, sit by the pool, get some sun, and enjoy some time off in paradise.
What I'm not too excited for is leaving my kitchen for 8 days.
I love creating and making new recipes (if you can't tell) , so taking time away from the kitchen can be a pain.
But even Michelangelo took breaks working on and painting the Sistine Chapel, so a week away should do me good.
Cellucor is the only Whey product I use to create all my recipes and usually whatever else you see.
the review is gonna include my ranking of all the flavors, my thoughts on them, and also some recipes and what I like to use them for!
But before I get started, lets just run through the small stuff-
- Cellucor isn't paying me to do any review. This is purely me, myself, and I ranking each flavor based off my own use/opinions.
- There isn't a Cellucor whey thats "bad". There are just ones I prefer more then others. They all are true to taste. I haven't tried a flavor that made me say "Oh man thats awful" (like most other protein powders do). My rankings are based off of me and my uses of each flavor.
- I'll do my best to cover all the bases like the uses, and ill attach at least 1-2 recipes for each flavor (12 of the bad boys)
SO LETS GET STARTED!
Now, lets get things straight. I do not hate any of these flavors, and just because Red Velvet Cake Batter is ranked 12 just means the other flavors (in my opinion) were just a little more kick ass.
Im really not a huge cake person in general and never have been..... Always got cookie cake at my birthday parties when I was younger..... So that might have something to do with the overall dislike of spongy birthday cake.
Red velvet is true to taste, and it gives you that chocolaty kinda touch with an added little sweet kick of cream cheese vanilla Icing..... I've tasted Red Velvet cupcakes that taste less like red velvet then this whey.... that speaks for itself.
Best Used In- I think the Red Velvet Cake Batter flavor is best in baked goods, pancakes, and other hot stuff. something about eating this flavor warm and in cooked foods makes it taste more cake like.
Recipe - Like I said, I had the best success with the red velvet flavor in pancakes! try these Red Velvet Protein Pancakes layered with strawberries, and topped with a Raw chocolate cacao!
Like most other companies and protein powders made, strawberry is always a staple in each line of products.
The difference between cellucors strawberry and the other companies?
This flavor doesn't leave you with that "Oh, goodie.... I didn't know I bought children cough medicine" taste or after taste.
This flavor is easily the best strawberry flavor I've ever tasted, and the milkshake flavor really comes through however/whatever you use it in. The reason this is so good is because its versatile, so you can mix it with flavors like chocolate, coconut, vanilla, banana, and pretty much any other combination you can come up with.
Best Used In - I would say the Strawberry Milkshake whey is my favorite in a post workout shake. its easy, quick, good, and even creamy like a milkshake when mixed with water on the go or at the gym.
Recipe - I've use this flavor in just about anything I could come up with, from Oatmeal to Protein french toast. check out these two recipes to try!
This has sprinkles in it........ like you can see the colors..... thats enough said, right?
The Cor-Fetti Cake Batter is a play off of Confetti Cake, and I must say the flavor is on point. Its Light, cakey, and you get that vanilla taste like a birthday cake too. This flavor screams 10th birthday party, and they couldn't have gotten the flavor more dead on. If your a cake person, then you need this in your life, mouth, and next shaker bottle immediately.
Best Used In - In my opinion, the Cor-Fetti Cake Batter flavor is best in pancakes and also in baked goods. It also easily makes for a great quick protein shake on the run because of the creaminess of the flavor.
Recipes - Pancakes and Oats are the go-to for Cor-Fetti. even taste great mixed with mater at the gym because just like the strawberry milkshake flavor that I mentioned previously, it makes the shake really creamy. Check out these three recipes/ideas for the Cor-Fetti Cake Batter Flavor Below!
Every time I have this flavor I'm just like, "how the heck do they make it taste like its actually whipped!?'
Besides being the best vanilla flavored protein I've ever had, its so ridiculously versatile I can't even name all the combinations I've come up with and created. Were talking Whipped Vanilla coconut, pralines n' cream, peaches n' cream, banana cream pie, tiramisu, Vanilla chai, Rum Runner, toffee,
....... I can go on for days and days, people. I'd say most vanilla's are bland, boring, and somewhat "cardboard-ish", but this flavor kicks all the vanillas asses that you've tried in the past. creamy, thick, mixable, and 150% versatile to use in anything your little heart desires.
Best Used In - With the whipped vanilla flavor, my go to is always oatmeal or a smoothie. nothing better then whipped vanilla egg white protein oats topped with berries and almond butter, or a whipped vanilla very berry protein smoothie.
Recipes - Literally anything. I haven't really found a use that this whey didn't make better, from pancakes to french toast, and banana bread to cookies. try these ideas out with the whipped vanilla flavor!
Another creamy whey, but you'll notice little cookie chunks scattered throughout the entire powder. like diving into Oreo heaven. for some unknown reason other companies Cookies and cream whey's are chalky, taste just like vanilla and have a hard time mixing. Cellucor's cookies n' cream whey is creamy, and the flavor is reminiscent to your childhood of pulling those two black cookies apart, licking the white icing, and dunking them in ice cold milk.
Best Used In - Love this flavor in smoothies and also in oats. for the most part all the creamy flavors of whey are versatile, and the added bits of cookie in the whey take this flavor to the next level.
Recipes - Mixing Cookies n' Cream with just about anything works great. its an awesome alternative to vanilla. try these recipes and ideas out!
Heres another flavor with actual cookie chunks right in the whey with every single scoop. This is one of the newest flavors to come out..... and it does not disappoint. it actually has that dough flavor that raw cookie dough actually has. the chocolate chip flavor also comes through pretty strong.
Best Used In - Oats. lots and lots of oats. chocolate chip cookie dough oatmeal is like heaven in a bowl. and chocolate chip banana oatmeal pancakes are straight from gods protein kitchen.
Recipes - you really can't go wrong with cookie dough pancakes, and if I'm wrong.... then I don't wanna be right.....
Now this flavor brings me back. were talking like wayyyyyy back to my childhood, spent downing mint chocolate chip milkshakes from Brusters everyday over summer. This could be the most complete flavor out of all the flavors. I was nervous to try it at first because I didn't wanna ruin the joy Mint Chocolate Chip brings back to me. I had tried previous mint flavors from other companies and had been disappointed. This flavor is ridiculously good, and I've already have gone through a tub and a half of it.
Best Used In - smoothiesssssss. lots of them. a frozen banana is all you need. I usually add almond milk, banana, spinach, and ice along with the whey...... best protein smoothie ever. combination of andy's mints/thin mint girl scout cookies and Jesus. I'm telling you guys. life changing.
Recipes - Along with smoothies I've tried just about anything you can think of from brownies to pancakes. For some reason I like this flavor cold. so its usually always a post workout shake or if I have time a smoothie. Try out these three ideas!
The newest flavor to be dropped by cellucor. The added touch of Raspberry is addicting. I highly recommend the new flavor for anyone with a sweet tooth because it really hits the spot. the truffle taste comes full circle and its taste comes off a little lighter then the Molten Chocolate in terms of deep chocolate flavor, but surprisingly the truffle flavor comes off rich and satisfying. It kind of reminds me of a Chocolate mousse because its light and sort of has that same tone as the Whipped vanilla flavor. Plus, raspberry is one of my favorite fruits, so the fact that the raspberries actually taste like raspberries is applauding. My appoliges to Willy Wonka for the "Snozberry taste like Snozberries!!" analogy, but Willy Wonka has nothing on this Chocolate Raspberry Truffle Whey Flavor.
Best Used In - think dessert. Chocolate Raspberry Truffle Overnight Oats? yes please. this flavor is so new I haven had time to make many recipes with it. But let me ask you a question: whens the last time you ate something that had Chocolate Raspberry Truffle in the name and didn't think it was delicious?...... thats right...... never.
Recipes - Like I said before, this flavor is so brand spanking new I haven't had a chance to play with it all too much, but once i get back from vacation its going down in the kitchen.... Chocolate Raspberry Truffle Protein Cheese Cake??? let the Ideas start commence. But heres a breakfast idea in the meantime
Oh boy. This is one of the two flavors of where it all started. In my first cellucor order (over a year ago) I knew I had to get my hands on it, and from that point on its been love ever since.
Peanut Butter Marshmallow is one of cellucor's signature first flavors, and what a way to start the companies whey Cor-Series with a bang. The peanut butter and marshmallow flavors combine to make a perfect combination. Almost as good as peanut butter and jelly?!.....
Well I'm not to sure about that, but I do know whoever decided to dip a marshmallow in peanut butter was one hell of a guy, and we can all thank him now because we get to feast on this whey.
The peanut butter flavor is not over powerful to the point where you can't taste the marshmallow, and vice-versa. both flavors complement each other and balance each other out nicely.
Best Used In - If you find something that this whey isn't good in then you can let me know, because its hard to mess this one up. smoothies, oats, muffins, banana bread, cookies, pancakes, and mixed in with greek yogurt. you can cover all your bases with this flavor.
Recipes - love this flavor in oatmeal, with some berries and other toppings! exactly like a PB&J..... with a little touch of marshmallow fluff. try out these ideas or make your own little creation!
Can you see the trend we've got going on here, people?...... The lower the number gets.... the more chocolate is involved.....
Let me warn you. This is no coincidence.
Why?
Because chocolate is the nectar of the gods. No but really. I love chocolate, and the Molten Chocolate flavor hits home every time I'm craving something for my sweet tooth.
Other Chocolate protein powders I've had have that strange chocolate flavor lingering somewhere in the background, but its not sweet enough to fully appreciate it the way it should. Cellucor's Molten Chocolate whey reminds me of a dessert more then a protein powder. Its versatile, smooth, no clumps, just pure chocolate willy-wonka waterfall goodness in every tub. The "Molten" adds a sort of fudge taste, and reminds me of some really decadent overpriced fancy dessert. So good.
Best Used In - This right behind Whipped Vanilla is the easiest flavor to use and to not get tired of in my opinion. you can mix it up, add any fruit, change flavors by adding extracts, and virtually make anything ranging from baked goods to chocolate protein fudge and even protein chocolate sauce. If you have a deep appreciation for chocolate like me, then you need to be putting this flavor in your mouth almost everyday like I do.
Recipes - one of my favorites to make baked goods with, this list could go on for daysssssss. try a couple of these to get you hooked on this flavor.
Heres what I want you to do.... look at the back of this tub of whey and read some of the ingredients to it....... Blah, Blah, Blah, and some mumbo jumbo.....
But then.....
"Marshmallow Bits & Graham cracker bits" printed on the label.
Yes people........ This whey has mini marshmallows and graham cracker in every scoop.
Straight from your childhood campouts now all crammed/stuffed into one big tub of protein heaven. This is also one of the new cellucor flavors to come out, along with CCCD and Chocolate Raspberry truffle. in my opinion its the best of the 3 to be released. I can't describe it because its hard to describe perfection in protein form, but it taste exactly like S'mores down to a T. You can even see the little mini marshmallows floating in your shaker bottle or you can even taste them in your Oats, Pancakes, Or whatever else you put this magical powder in. Trust me, this taste like a bite out of backyard S'mores you made with your family roasting marshmallows, while cramming that little burnt white puff in-between 2 graham crackers and a piece of melty hershey chocolate.
Best Used In - I would say its best in Oats and other hot things. Think pancakes, French Toast, and other warm ideas. I've made smoothies, baked with it, and even take it to the gym on the run for a quick post workout just mixed with water. All crazy good, all taste like S'mores, all great childhood memories.
Recipes - Baked goods are the go to people, and oats never fail. Try these recipes out and feel like your in the back yard roasting marshmallows while you eat them.
The Holy Grail of the Cellucor Whey Cor-Performance series...... and the flavor that started it all for me.
I'm a cinnamon lover, but with a flavor this good I don't know how you couldn't be. Ever since I was little its been love at first bite with cinnamon, people.
were talking cinnamon buns, rolls, churro's, brown sugar cinnamon pop tarts, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Cinnamon raisin bread, cinnamon apples, and snicker doodle cookies will always be my favorite.
I even have a soft spot for all the holiday cinnamon treats and goodies, like eggnog and other Christmas stuff that overdo the cinnamon.
Its a problem, but its one that I take full responsibility for.
This flavor is so good it worries me.....
I have a fear i'll run out of this and be stranded without it, and will have to wait to get more...... thats how good this stuff is. I think I might have a panic attack if i didn't have this flavor on the regular.
Best Used In - Anything you can think of. I've tried this protein in ever way, shape, and form imaginable. You will love this flavor baked in cake, muffins, banana bread, protein balls, or even pancake'd, oatmeal'd, over night oate'd, even in a shaker, and anything else far and in between. I'm sure if you sprinkled Cinnamon Swirl whey on a shoe it would be edible enough for you to still enjoy.
Recipes - So...... many..... recipes..... couldn't list them all if I tried, So here are a handful of my favorites.
Hopefully I could inspire you to try out some new recipes or try some of the Cellucor Products!
You can 100% expect more product reviews when Cellucor drops new flavors and other various Supplement Products!
Like I said before, I was on vacation writing this up for you guys and thats why its taken a bit longer then expected to get this to you, so heres a live shot of me working on the review in my new temporary office........
I think the view is pretty good if I do say so myself....
